Central Junlon-'s 33rd Annual Reflector CENTRAIPS URCHESTRA We are proud to have an orchestra at Central under the leadership of Mrs. Mary Carlson. All ofthe students strived earnestly during 1955 and 1956 to form a good orc- hestra and they all deserve a good pat on the back for it. The students play frequently for P.T.A., schools, concerts, and have a Spring Festival every year. We would like to thank all of them. The orchestra members are, Leo Borrello, Nancy Gregory, Janice Haefele, Herbert Han- sen, John Luebkert, Allen Maris, Melcha Millar, Gwendolyn Pruiett, Douglas Anderson lndilus Ansevics, Richard Banks, John Ferg- uson, Marie Hetzner, Connie Hunt, Gerald Horn, Walter Kuhlman, Janis Janson, lndu- lis Judzis, Victoria Mares, Callie McAfee, Pat Smith, Gary Sterling, Jean Sutters and Gene White. CENTRAUS Y-TEENS Central's Y- Teens meet once each month at the Y.W.C.A.with otherJunior High Y Teens. Some of their activities were, a Get Acquainted Party and a Recognition Service during the month of September, a Christmas party inDecember,in January they had a swim- ming party at the Y.M.C.A., on February 24, they held a Leap Year Dance and they had a hayride in March. Some of Centralls Y-Teen members are Dianne Barnes, Patricia Campell, Patricia Clymer, Hope Cryz, Sonia Green, Luddie Jackson, Carolyn Johnson, Maxine Jolis, Louise Lanier, Sue Nelson, Jane Rosier and Gail McCloud. CENTRAIRS IJBRABY STAFF By Sharon Drouillard To some pupils of Central our library may seem to be a rather gloomy forest but with the help of Miss Schindler and her crew, much light can be found. Miss Schindler is in charge of the library. Her helpers are Geraldine Gilkison, Virginia Johnson, Elizabeth Hill, J acquelynn Haitman, Sharon Huff, Pat O'Connor, Linda Pelayo, Baiba Skrivelis and Elizabeth Ricica. This library staff helps Miss Schindler put the books in their right order on the shelves, check in and out books, keep the magazine table and rack neat and check the Encyclope- dias every night. All duties in the library rotate every , fifth week. Helpers can select new titles ofbooks for next year and they soon learn to use the card catolog in a very efficient manner. CENTRAUS BAND Holly Manning Centralls Band is one to be proud of under the direction of one of SaginaW's finest band directors Mr. Kenneth Mathews. They have proved themselves a competent group. Some of the years activities included marching in the Memorial Day parade and participatingin the Band Drama on May 27. The Band is divided into nine sections. They areg the flute section, trumpet section, saxo- phone section, clarinet section, horn section, trombone section, baritone section, bass sec- tion and the drum section. The flute section includes Geoffrey Smith, Ann Muellerweiss, Sally Barnes, Louene Ahl- gren and Deane Sodeman. The trumpet players are Luis Castellanos, Paul Horton, Clyde Braman, Robert Lilly, Sherrol Cross, Cynthia Riser, Dewey Bertram, Bette McClellan, Louise Kartz, Kenneth Svrc- ina, Albert Gulliver, Grace Van Horn and Mirta de los Santos. Those in the horn section are Jerry Ulrey Nina Bowman, Gladys Laurette,Emma Flores, Bob Gamez, Carol Pitsch and Joe Hernandez. In the trombone section are Eldon Lake, Frank Miller, Greg Barris, Janet Taylor, Bill Cymbol and Doug Eads. In the baritone section are HollylVlanning, Mary Caballero,Kay Fager and Pat Habina. The bass players include Gary Weiravch, Micheal Morrison, Bill Murlick, BobNovak, Leroy Daniel, Wayne Hahn and Thomasfles- selaitis. This Advanced Band is made upfof Hfty- five ninth graders, thirteen eighth graders and one seventh grader. FAREWELL CENTRAL by Mary Ann McGregor F-riends we made at Central. A-ll year those who worked hard received A's. R-eports that many will miss in their civics c ass. E-nglish grammar that Central taught us. W-ell wishes are left behind for teachers.
