Spirit shown by cheerleaders This year the 76-77 cheer- leaders had a fun-filled, full year. They not only cheered for the basketball team, but also for the volleyball, foot- ball, wrestling and cross- country teams. The Pep Club participated and helped the cheerleaders by turning out at the tourna- ment and pep assemblies. Last year' s eighth grade head cheerleaders who became this year' s freshman head cheerleaders were Melissa May- field and Carolyn Adkins. They were joined at the end of last year by freshman cheerleaders Lorayne Adriano, Denise Doyle, Carrie Murphy, Mary Jo Pursley, Julia Quijas, and Lori Whi- thorne. At the beginning of this school year, two more eighth grade cheerleaders were cho- sen: Kim Kenski and Diana Jen- nings. The cheerleaders had a new sponsor this year, Mrs. Elaine Holst. ' l.
