Jean Heckman with the help of her classmates successfully campaigned for secretary of Student Council the first semester. Martin Gilbert, a member of Central's basketball team, helped his team- mates win the championship. Four members of the class held membership in the Order of Light. The class won the Attendance Banner twice and the Booster Banner once due to Shirley Smith's expert salesmanship in selling twenty-three library subscriptions.
