They Won the Homeroom Beautiful Banner in the earlier part of the school year. In the first semester, Dolores Geschel was a candidate for president of Student Council. The section contributed three Master Members to the Order of Light. In the sports department, Richard Heffner was a member of the varsity basketball team and Robert Grider and Patsy Casciano were members of the football team. Twenzyfue

Section 9-8 y Section 9,8 has produced many school leaders. The president of the homeroom, Thomas Roma, was vice-president of the Student Council the second semesterg co-editor of the Booster, and ninth grade class president. Three 9-8'ers, Norman Balliet, Rodney Hower, and Edwin Camp, played varsity football. Twenty-one members were active in Central's musical organizations, and five worked on the Newscaster staff. Jean Heckman with the help of her classmates successfully campaigned for secretary of Student Council the first semester. Martin Gilbert, a member of Central's basketball team, helped his team- mates win the championship. Four members of the class held membership in the Order of Light. The class won the Attendance Banner twice and the Booster Banner once due to Shirley Smith's expert salesmanship in selling twenty-three library subscriptions.
