A person who can and does walk the fine line of being a friend as well as being a teacher. An example of this kind of person is Mrs. Wavey Hull. In the fourteen years of teaching in the Business Department of Central Islip High School, Mrs. Hull's warm and friendly personality has touched many students and staff members. Her pleasant greetings and warm smile have infected many. Fortunately for us, Mrs. Hull does not limit herself to the classroom, so her warmth and cheerfulness has a chance to spread. Mrs. Hull's students are and have been very fond of her. They respect her for her firmness when they have needed firmness, her insight when they have needed Cheering up. These qualities have not ended with the last bell of the day. As advisor to the Future Business Leaders of America, Mrs. Hull continues her specialty after school hours. This year, those hours were extensive because the F.B.L.A. produced a CI. version of Fame and of course Mrs. Hull was there. Because of her special qualities and contributions over the years, we dedicate the 1985 Treasures to Mrs. Wavey Hull. w mygpm ysvfaszv Awmwwm- gm 000060$9a 00966969 ite9900Q$ . w; i i: MIJ r x 1 Central Administration james M. Pride Pride in CI. is a tradition which is enriched yearly by each graduating class. Each class leaves behind its own distinctive qualities including its strong points and its weaker points, its successes and its failures, the good as well as the bad. It is the job of the underclassmen to learn from these mistakes and take from the good. We the class of 85 are proud of our contributions to CI. and it is our h0pe that the classes of 86, 87, and 88 will continue the tradition which we have had the pleasure of experiencing. May your memories be as fond as ours. To the underclassmen we say good luck and to CI. we say good-bye. mWi Homecoming , WW4 w , Varsity Football Dinner The Champs!!! Pride by shutting out the t0p ranked East Islip Redmen, for the first time in 11 years. The rivalry between the two teams has become part of CI. tradition. The Musketeers went on to defeat the 1983 Rutgers Cup Champion, the Bay Shore Marauders 12-0. The Muske- teers of '84-85 captured the league championship and were co-ranked number one in the state. This was a tough competitive season for the Musketeers and they ended it with an impressive 7-0 record. Three cheers for the CI. Musketeers!!! Te Four lonely desperados running off and into the war. You fell down' the first time you tried to walk. You almost drowned the first time you tried to swim, didn't you? Did you hit the ball the first time you swung a bat? Heavy hitters, the ones who hit the most home runs, also strike out a lot. R. H. Macy failed seven times before his store in New York caught on. English novelist Iohn Creasey got 753 rejection slips before he published 564 books. Babe Ruth struck out 1,330 times, but he also hit 714 home runs. . Don't worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try.
