Building those all important friendships that last a lifetime. Building that ever-important education that can take us anywhere we want to go. We learn to work with each other and also in groups. We learn to have confidence in ourselves and stand alone. And we learn to be happy by just being ourselves g ; , i 5 i 4 $ .44, w; M, WWW e Building from the Past People always learn from past experiences, C.I. students are no different. As every student gets older he finds that things like Homecoming mean very much to him. Time seems to march on at a rapid pace. There seems to be no time for friends and fun, but we somehow fmd the time. Even the teachers , 21251.5; 2 you thought you hated seem to have softened with time. Seniors feel that time is running out the first time they walk into school their final year. J uniors realize times running out a little later. Sophomores seem to feel the world is theirs, and Fre hmen just try to adjust. I Building toward those Big Steps High school rings are the first big step high school students have to take. In October C. 1. students took that first big plunge. Balfour Ring Company arrived at the high school ready to take ring orders from both Seniors and Juniors. For three days excited students flipped through ring pamphlets to find the ring that pleased them most. College Day is another important day. Colleges from all around came to show what they might have to . offer some C.I. student. Parents were in to view college programs along with their children. Many students participated in this affair. Building C.I. Spirit On September 26, CI. was up and cheering. The first Pep Rally of the year was held. The Band started this event with the music from its half time show. There was also a twirling demonstration from our Golden Girl Lisa Cobb. The cheerleaders then went out and did some rousing cheers that really got the crowd going. All the teams were then announced. The CI. fans were ready to start their sports season off right. w,- m Mm 44201 W. 3-... . y -,I MRI , asb-z-f: - , Building F riendships Friendship is one of the important things in a high school students life. Making new friends seem so easy if you have old friends to fall back on. You fmd out the people you thought you didnht like arenht so bad after all, and even teachers are human beings and can even become good friends. Some people call it favoritism, but most of the time its just growing up. 3;? W ,Auum V V, .3 cig$2711;131ii m . This is a statement that perfectly describes Mrs. Shirley Green. Mrs. Green has been on the CI. teaching staff for 9 years and for 9 years people have known her vitality and dedication to not only the high school but also the community. She believes that any- one can improve hersethimself if shelhe tries, that is why after teaching a full day at the high school she then returns to teach night school students for their equivalency diplomas. In addition to helping students 'get through the rigors of high school academics she also plans trips, that students may see more of the outside world. This year was her 3rd annual trip to Florida, in which any student could have participated. She has also planned, along with other faculty members, trips to Broadway shows, so that students may see the bright lights of NYC. Apart from these fun aspects of Mrs. Greenls personality, she can make the aver- age or even the not so average student feel good about hersethimself and want to succeed in the world after high school. She has been the moving force behind more than one successful C.I. student, and be- cause of these laudable qualities the 1984 llTREASURESii is dedicated to Mrs. Shir- ley Green. . :::::. mum 5mm Gum .. lm h ,m K Fumvcuu. :1 hurt I 011' 0' lmmu r ullvtmu a:::::-: entral Administ John J.
