. Boosters Brighten School S Booster Club was very busy this year trying to keep the students informed on the activities that went on weekly. Some of the members gave up their first period study hall to help with Homecoming decorations and to paint signs for the games being pla ed each week. Others worked Ili y se ng sweaters in homerooms and manning the merchandise booth before school. The purposes of Booster Club are to sponsor the annual Homecoming Dance, provide publicity for sporting events and other school activities, provide desired merchandise for sale to the faculty and student body such as: Central-Hower sweaters, pens and pencils, football, basketball, and Eagle spirit buttonsg and holder folders. Another purpose of Booster Club is to contribute to the senior scholarship fund. Mrs. Knotts is the advisor of Booster Club and she did a great job of keep- ing everything together. Her officers this year were: President - Manuel Underdowng Vice-President - Brendy Schobyg Secretary - Frances Butler, Treasurer - Steve Sheppard, Merchandise Chairman - Michael Hatherillg Special Events Chairman - Teresa Davis, and Sign-Painting Chairman - Diana Ball. Sorne of the activities that Booster Club was responsible for were the Homecoming Dance decorations, work as salesmen daily in the Booster Booth, painting signs weekly for sports activities, and holding the Annual Walk-a-thon to raise funds for senior scholarships. h g X ... Majorettes Strike Up The Band The Majorettes added interest and school spirit to this years football games and pep assemblies. Headed by Miss Brenda Frank, the girls worked hard all summer Q practicing and raising money to purchase their summer uniforms. Each girl was 5 chosen on poise, appearance, showmanship, and twirling and dancing ability. Under the direction of Mr. Thomas Duplaga, the band has also been busy. The band participated in parades, assemblies, community projects, and band concerts. As a new addition, the flag twirlers added sparkle and color to the Eagle band. They also participated in money-raising projects to purchase their uniforms.
