This tradition was started in the 1800 s. Funds re- ceived at the auctions were put into Thanksgiving baskets for needy families. This was the beginning of many suc- cessful auctions at Central. The custom was to form pools of people who were the only ones admitted to the audi- torium. At this time candy was the only thing auctioned off but different items were added to the collection of articles until we come to the great variety that we find today. Now everyone is invited to attend the auction and you dont have to be in a pool. J. Nelson I. lewis D. Henrichs and J. Asbiornsen get ready to do their war dance.
