Mr. George A. Beck, Central's prin- cipal, has been the guiding hand in the affairs of this school for the past seven- teen years. This fall we were minus our principal for two months. Mr. Beck, because of his outstanding work in education, was chosen to tour Europe in the employ of the Armed Forces. He returned home iust in time to celebrate Christmas withlhis family and friends. The purpose of this tour was to see that the American high schools in Europe measure up to the quality of those here in the States, and to make suggestions for their improvement. Cs. he ,lf -v CJ' During Mr. Beck's absence, our assistant principal, Mr. Kenneth Talkovich, assumed a dual role of principal and assistant. Mr. Talkovich began teaching here in l94O and since 1944 he has been Cen- tral's assistant principal. To these two schoolmen go the thanks of those at Central.
