, V n YY. nr LSD, SDS, SAT, POT, STUDENT DEMONSTRATIONS, BAN THE BOMB, BLACK POWER, AD- VANCED CLASS YENTA, KEN- NEDY, JOHNSON, GREGORY, A HALLUCINATORY TRIP, A PARTY, these were the words, the slogans, the people, the experiences which have seized us and involved us in a world which speeds past our eyes at an ever-increasing rate. We were caught up in the world. The Vietnamese War . . . the riots in the cities . . . school demonstrations . . . weekly math tests . . . term reports . . . all blurred into the spectrum of our total experience. At times, our routine was burdensome and the work overwhelming. We struggled to master the concepts of a trigonomet- ric function or to comprehend the meaning of a philosophical tangent, it was all part of this multi-faceted, multi-colored experience. Yet, the individual's mind pulsated and the recollection of certain in- stances poked through the blur of our memories. Each of us had our own spectrum - the football team, the biol- ogy class, the chess club. The weeks, the days, the hours, slipped by, lost to the past, but not to the memory . . . But all was not work. Rittenhouse Square, cops, Gino's, a Saturday night . . . with a girl were also part of our time at Central. The transient moods effected by these activities helped mature us from old freshmen to young seniors. Maturity, as we came to know it, was not something which could be tested in an examina- tion, it was and continues to be a nev- er-ending process. At Central, we were confronted by the manifestation of learning and liv- ing and maturing. We were confront- ed by the spectrum. TIT' v u--in. .H
