I w SEATED: Jerry Kelley, Bill Pifer, Richard Miller-Treasurer Ben Miller President Wayne Clem-Vice-President, Gary Shipe-Secretaryg STANDING Mr Hawkins Advisor, Richard I-leishman, Tommy Morrison, Frank Hoover Vocational Office Training is a program in which busi nessmen cooperate with the school in training students for office jobs. Students attend morning classes at school and work at a job-training station in the afternoon. Only senior students who are at least partially trained in business subjects are eligible. They must have an over all average of C or better to enroll in V.O.T. The student works five days a week from 2:00 to 5 00 Students receive school credit for their on-the-job training as well as credit for their classroom instruction. A total of two credits is given for the course. This program provides specialized training for office jobs. It also provides an opportunity for the student to find his real job interest while still in school. V,O.T. enables a student to earn while he learns. The instructor makes regular checks on the student to see how he is progressing. She discusses with the employer and the student, the problems that the employer and the student are encountering. The student is graded according to his work in the office and in class. The D.E, Club and the D,O. Club are composed of mem bers of the Distributive Education Class and the Industrial Cooperative Class respectively. The purpose of the clubs is to give students knowledge training and experience in preparation for employment after graduation.
