The Curricular Advisers Plan F or E TRAL Functioning for the past twenty years, the Central High School Guidance Department has moved forward under the direction of Miss Mary McNally. The chief aim of the department is to help students adjust to their enviroment, and to aid the school in the whole development of each boy and girl. This department recognizes that in the ever-changing world of today the greatest need is individual adjustment. To aid Central's 1600 students in educational and vocational planning, and to help them solve their personal prob- lems is the service given by this counseling staff which now includes seven people who give part of their teaching day to this personnel work. Planning for colleges, vocational clinics, and employment placement are also important phases of this department. Freshman guidance and orientation is handled by the sixteen social living teachers, who work in con- nection with the guidance department pictured on the opposite page.
