Its chief purposes are: to help promote all school activi- ties, to aid in community projects and to help the girls of the school. Junior Red Cross work of all sorts and defense work has been the chief community interest of the girls this year and as usual they have helped with all school affairs, and have helped new girls become acquainted with Central. Willi in Dillon gets an idea for next year To the guidance department students go every day for systematic help in making adjust- ments to various types of problems-educational, vocational, moral, social, and personal. llere coun- sellors help pupils to know themselves as indi- viduals, aid them in developing more integrated personalities, and give sympathetic advice about individual short-comings and personal problems. Here, also information about vocations can be ob- tained so that Central's young people can make more intelligent plans for a life career. The 1941 Wildcat football team finished third in the South-Central league with eight wins, a forfeit, and one tie out of 10 games played during the season. Sharpening up for league play they swept over Las Animas, Raton and North Denver, outscoring each by the margin of two touchdowns. In league play the Cats looked stronger defeating Canon City and holding the ultimate league champions, Salida, to a scoreless tie. The following week, after out- scoring the Centennial Bulldogs 21 to 0, Central was forced to forfeit the game due to the accidental use of an ineligible player. The Wildcats then continued with victories over Walsenburg, Colorado Springs, Trinidad and Florence, winning each game by decisive scores. League totals were five wins, one loss, and one tie, with Central scoring 271 points and giving up 74 to op- ponents. At the close of the season, Elmer Woolard, Wildcat left end, was named honorary captain for the year.
