Centra1's Home Economics Department, headed by Miss Frances Wright, purchased new china this year. They also received a donation of twenty-five dollars worth of meat from the Pork Association. Students may choose from eight elective courses: Home Economics I, advanced clothing, child develop- ment, family living, senior home economics, home decoration, personal culture, and advanced foods. During her first hour advanced foods class, Debbie Ingram prepares chocolate filling for the pie that she is making. Joseph high schools an excellent Opportunity to learn new skills as well as proper procedures in individual fields of vocational skills. In training the boys for possible future occupa- tions, this school offers such courses as electronics, auto mechanics, machine shop, welding, carpentry, drafting, cabinetmaking, and printing. The printing class publishes the School Review. Senior Kenny Loomis sands the fender of his car before re- painting it during his class at Hillyard Technical School.

TT Q Centralis art department offers a varied program. Students have the opportunity to extend their knowl- edge in such areas as oil painting, jewelry making, woodcarving, macreme knotting, enameling, and dif- ferent kinds of printings. Art I students learn under the instruction of Mrs. Judy Frye, and Mrs. Jane Voss directs Art II, III, and IV. This year the art department received a casting machine from Brush and Pencil Club. Jackie Bishop, sophomore, and Sherry Buckner, junior, draw a simple sketch of a human model during Art II class.
