Enrollment in Mr. Blacklock's and Mr. Walk- er's driver's education classes reached capacity this year. Many fifteen and a half and sixteen year olds took advantage of the opportunity to learn to drive. Students spend six Weeks studying rules and procedures of good driving and mechanics and care of a car. They use the rest of the semester for practice driving sessions. Students taking the course find that driving requires practice, judg- ment, and skill. g Suzanne Novak studies the proper parallel parking technique for drivers' training in hopes of making a good test grade.

FY Central Students St0PU observe the display 'of unusual Chinese artwork. ts View displays in galleries Central's art program has undergone several changes this year. Mrs. Jane Voss sponsored trips to area art galleries to study works on display. Students toured St. Joseph's Albrecht Gallery to see an exhibit of Chinese painting and also went to the Nelson Art Gallery in Kansas City. These visits tie the current developments in art to the studentis application of his talent. Mrs. Voss and Miss Jane Blackwell instruct Art I stu- dents in basic fundamentals of drawing, design, color, and painting, and studies in art history.
