Boys gain skills for careers in industry Centralis industrial arts program offers freshman and sophomore boys general shop, woodworking, metal working, electronics, and mechanical drawing. Each class involves interest- ing projects starting with simple buzzers and art objects to more complicated projects such as ra- dios. In advanced classes, boys learn new skills and how to use more advanced power tools. Hillyard Technical School provides junior and senior boys with classes preparing them for possible occupations in the future or work in re- lated areas of study. This school offers students drafting, electronics, auto mechanics, machine shop, printing, welding, and carpentry. Boys learn newskills as well as proper procedures. COE students gain vocational abilities Cooperative Occupational Education CCOEJ enables many students to acquire part time or permanent employment. Through this program students obtain on-the-job training for vocations that they may go into for the future. COE instructor, Mr. Ralph Wilkinson, tries to prepare his students for their jobs by teaching them what an employer Wants and expects from his employees. n Students also learn about selling, business law, and money management.
