During Latin IV class, Juniors Bev Frank and Dick Riddell discuss various aspects of the Roman form of architecture. Languages add foreign flavor to classes These second year German students watch for mistakes as Senior Howard Rosenthal writes his assignment on the board. Central's Language Department offers a variety of foreign languages. To those students who .wish to develop skills in this field, Latin, French, Spanish, and German courses are offered. At the end of a year of memorizing dialogues and learning pronunciation, first year French students join the upperclassmen in a banquet, and those who have carried an S or better average their first year are invited to join the French Club. The Latin pupils study conjugation of verbs and declension of nouns. At the end of the year they celebrate with a Cena Romana, a banquet served by Freshmen slaves in full costume. .Spanish instructors teach conversational Spanish, and the students who enroll in these classes are given the opportunity to learn more about our Spanish speaking neighbors.
