Outlook receives ll Americana' rating To get the news to the reader and to get it to him in the most exciting and concise manner possi- ble is the goal of the Outlook staff. Meeting in room 127, they spend hours writing and rewriting leads, captions, and headlines. Each year Mrs. McCoy chooses a staff from her journalism classes to compose and edit the next se- mester's newspaper. This group of individuals com- bine their efforts so well that for several years our newspaper has ranked among the very top in the state. Correspondent Roger Wright gives suggestions to Editor Ron Zach while Editor Andy Thomas gets ideas from past issues. Betty Coyle and Marcia Watson learn from Marilyn Bottorff the proper method of preparing pictures for printing. Copy cutlines gutters bleeding cropping and Hopping are terms learned and used by the group of Juniors and Seniors who compile the Wakitan each year. Seventh period finds Room 136 alive With activity as Mr. Dowell and Miss McCoun as- sist the workers in solving any problems they may have in producing Central s yearbook. Those students who attend workshop during the summer vacation bring back helpful sugges- tions in preparing a Wakitan which Will hope- fully obtain a high rating in the yearbook judging.
