Social Studies gain renewed emphasis Past is Prologue stated William Shakespeare. This is a fact that instills in students the importance of the social sciences. ' Gradually, in the past few years, the pendulum has swung. There is a re-emphasis within the cur- riculum on humanities rather than the natural sciences and mathematics. Man is again becoming aware of the fact that if he is to establish a secure and prosperous world, he must first create an indi- vidual who isable to appreciate and maintain this society. It is now that period in history when men real- ize that they don't have to be contented with what they inherited. It is now that time in history when men are realizing that it's going to take a better man, rather than a better Weapon, to secure a better world.
