Math prepares students for scientific World Mr. Kirschner finishes a problem for one of his students. Even in Algebra I, the problems are long and difficult. In this scientific world, precision is needed to make a project perfect. Mathematics is said to be the basis of all learning, for it is used for the sim- plest everyday problems and the most complex equations of a scientist. It is for these purposes that the Central Math Department, under the direction of Mrs. Beaumont, is preparing students. Fascinating beyond a doubt, the courses of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and general math make us more conscious and appre- ciative of the everyday world about us. These courses are the ones that prepare the student for life with science. V - U In all math and science a slide rule is used to great advantage. Gene McDaniels reads the slide rule to Barbara Hornaday while Marilyn Meyer waits to tell the next step. , .. . 1Ti..-1 'SY -e-i X Q:
