A student possessing any talents in music or art can avail himself of any of the courses in this area. In the department of vocal music the subjects of Chorus, Glee Club, and Mixed Choir are taught by Mr. Byron Myers. Concert Choir and Inner Choir are taught by Mr. Marvin Gench. The Chorale, consisting of eigh- teen lnner Choir members, was organized this year. If one enjoys the color and thrill of a parade, the excitement and spirit of a marching band, or the rousing strains of a fast. peppy march, the Central band is the place for him. Under the direction of Mr. Allan Bing, games, and assemblies. The pep band plays for all pep assemblies and provides added enthusiasm. Mr. james Hill and Mrs. Rolande Pinkerton are responsible for art instruction. The basics of sketching, abstract design, and sculpturing are included in the four years of art offered at Central. Posters for all coming and current events are supplied by the art classes. An exhibit of the students' work is held each year and a Master Craftsman is chosen. Today-Art Students Jocelyn Kistler, Morie Dunn, and David Spiek work on models of their Dream Houses, a 1960 art class project. 32 l i Mary Poland poses as art students attempt a sketch from life drawing.
