' The entire Student Council, consisting of four officers, four cabinet members, and thirty-seven representatives, strive to promote closer relations between the faculty and the students by permit- ting student sentiment to express itself for the best interests of the school. Central's Student Council, which is noted as one of the most democratic and progressive bodies-of its type in the state, this year operated under a new constitution which was compiled by the members of the 'cabinet last year. The organization's largest project during the school year was the sponsoring of a foreign stu- dent. A taffy sale, which was originated for the purpose of carrying out this project was repeated by the Student Council this year as a fund raising campaign. n The student supply counter and the book ex- change are only a few of the services which they provide for the student body. Numerous extra curricular activities such as the football coronation, homecoming celebration, and the Christmas dance are also sponsored by this group. In promoting these activities and services, the Student Council's goal is to maintain, improve, and advance the scholarship and the physical and moral welfare of the students of Central High School.
