Constructive Arts gring Unltd 0 Art 0 Clothing PRINTING Today I visited one of the most unusual classes here at Central, printing. I hope to take this sometime because I always wanted to know how to set type and run a press. Besides I would be helping the school because the printing class prints a great deal of the material that is used here in school. CLOTHING A favorite class among the girls is clotliing where the girls not only learn to sew, but they also find what type of clothes that is best suited for them through their study of textiles and designing. Sixteen O Foods 0 Printing COOKING Today I discovered a class that I think I shall enjoy a great deal. A boys' cook' ing class teaches not only cooking but also the importance of eating the right kind of food. Girls are very enthusiastic over the work in cooking. ART This art department turns out some very talented people and why not, anyone who is at all interested in art will find some type just suited for him. Plain draw- ing and painting appeal to most, while only a few seem interested in cartooning. The costume designing class produces some dresses that would do a professional credit.

Someday I intend to take up some part of this division. You know people of this country. place a great deal more emphasis on business technique than we do in our country. No phase of bus- iness life is neglected. I can take either or all of these Commercial studies: Typ- ing, Comptometry, Bookkeeping. Short- hand, and office practice. l'd like to have a try a.t the most popular one. Typing. It will help me a lot to be more neat and systematic in writing. I can see where Shorthand would enable me to write more I rapidly for there. they substitute symbols for long hand. I think Bookkeeping, Comp- tometry, and office practice would be very constructive. It would be beneficial to take a course in Commercial Law which I understand deals with trade. commercial relations. and contracts in general. These Americans are engaged in various indus- tries and occupations and I could study these types by taking Industrial Geogra- phy. I can get MUS Today I became a member of the Mixed Choir here at Central. This is a class of music organized for both boys and girls. I know I shall enjoy this music for it means that I may take part in at least two special performances, the Christmas and Easter Program. I find that music makes up a big part- of the time here. Those a basic IKHOVVIGCIQB of architecture by tak- ing a course of Mechanical Drawing. I C girls who are so inclined may try out for Girls? Glee Club. This is a well trained group who sing on many occassions. Most girls want one year of just good old Music where they sing just for the fun of it. Those who wish to get into the deeper side of music enroll in Fundamentals of Music or Harmony. Seventeen
