The student body as a whole turned out for the games and stood behind their team in a most commendable manner. The squad last season was led by Captain Franz Meier who played left tackle 111 the greater part of the g3I116S. Richmond played a flashy sure game at quarter, never failing to gain some needed yardage. Ace VVeakley always cutting away for his teammates, French,s, Gore's and Hew1tt's timely gains passes and punts helped make the football team what it was this year. ' H The winning team, however, was not only due to a fighting back field but also to a peppy, heavy, well balanced line who time and again held the enemy on the very goal line giving Central another hope and chance. Gflllll, Landree, Kapp, Lawlor, Barnett, Beatty, Shea, Kiddoo, Barnett, Vigus, Huston and Captain Meier held positions in the line. p Basketball Central had one of the scrappiest fighting quintets it has had for years during the past season. Only the finest teams in this part of the country were on the sched- ule this year. Both last year's and this year's champions of Missouri in Class A and Class B were played. Last year,s champs of Nebraska and Iowa, as well as the 1923 and 1924 leaders in Kansas City were lnet on the basketball court by Central's team. The twelve men on the first squad this year were led by Arthur Kiddoo as Captain and Center. The other men were: Miller, Beaty, Gann, Kendall, Harvey, Gore, Bristow, Trenholm, Richmond, Roderick and Ritchie. T Central's victories and honor on the athletic team were due, in a great part, to Coach Aton Stankowski, who worked hard and faithfully to turn out some of the most brilliant teams that ever represented Cen- tral in Gridiron, Gym or Track Sports.
