McCallerty Portrays Educational Ideals September brought the familiar smile and '6Hil I-low are you? of our principal, Carl L. lVlcCallerty. Return- ing for his second full year, lVlr. lVlc- Cafferty brought with him a record of thirty years of public school service. His extensive community service in- cludes membership in the Chamber of Commerce, directorship of the North- tulsans, and the office of supervisor of the Community Chest. A very active Civitan, Mr. lVlcCaiferty has served as president of the Tulsa Downtown Club and governor of the state district. His professional experience in- cludes service as director of local and state units of the Oklahoma Educa- tional Association, the Junior Ameri- can Red Cross, and the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activity Associa- tion. In l963 he was honored in Whois Who In the South and Southwest. Currently, he is a member of the Phi Delta Kappa. Aside from this busy schedule, lVlr. lVlcCallerty is an avid hunter of quail and pheasant. Answering the call of the wild, he annually packs his para- phernalia and stalks his prey in Kan- sas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. 4'Carlls Boy, lVlr. McCaffe1ty,s reg- istered pointer, is being trained and will soon be ready to join his master 011 these excursions. Nlr. McCaflerty is Well known for his humor, which, when teamed with his loyalty, results in frequent up- roarious laughter during his opening remarks in assemblies. lVlr. lVlcCaller- tyls kecn interest in every school func- tion reveals his school spirit. Any one ol the sports events finds him urging our boys on to victory With his loyal cheers. He not only represents an en- thusiastic Centralite, but also a warm, friendly, and capable principal. MR.
