BASKETBALL TEAM LEFT TO RIGHT, Ray Wilkerson, Keith Hawthorne, Ricky Procise, Bolling Tucker, Earl Gee, Gordon Johnson, William Gatling, BACK ROW, Mark Dunnavant, Steve Retallick, Greg Keesee, Ricky Jones, Lloyd Jennings, Howard Davis, Coach Griffith. In J.V. Basketball this year, our team had a very successful year. Under the able leadership of Coach Griffith, the boys gained much valuable playing experi- ence. During the regular season, three of these players advanced to the varsity team to give them much valuable support near the end of the season. In each of their games, the J.V. team showed their true and unwavering school spirit as they played each game as if it was the most valuable one in their season. Through the combination of their determination and effort, they once again placed honor on the name of Central High School. 8TH GRADE TEAM Ken Blackburn, Mike Parsons, Barney Bolter, Glenn Minnix, Eddie Jeter, Coach Griffith. 86

Errol hooks it for two. Freddie lays one up. Scott wrestling for the ball. Although the team had several difficult games during the regular season, all of their performances were ones of which our school could be proud. David Tuck won honors from the team as the best Offensive player and Freddy Wilkerson won the honors for being chosen the best Defensive player. In Tournament games, Central lost a Quarter final game to Greensville. Central was also well represented on the All-District, and All-Tournament Teams. David Tuck won the honor of being named to both the All-District and All-Tournament Team. Freddie Wilkerson also won high honor as he was named to the All-District Team. All in all, our boys played basketball in tne spirit of a winning team. Jimmy goes for the ball. Up and in for two! 85 Wrenn fires the ball down court.
