The school year tCentral's lOZndl began
on September 7.
The enrollment was IO5-l. including 253
Nlr. Ben H. Barr returned as Principal.
after being Principal of Soldan-Blewett for
eight years. Having already been Principal of
Central from 1944 to I9-16, Mr. Barr is the
only person to hold tlae position for two separ-
ate terms of office.
XVe also had a new Assistant Principal, Mr.
A. B. Jordan. who came to us after filling a
similar position at Hadley' Technical High
XVe missed Miss Lowry' and 'Vliss Miller.

The football team upset Southwest last

w as the first time the Redwings had won their
opening league football game in nine years
They also defeated McKinley by the score
of 20 to 7 but lost to Roosevelt 14 to f
