vhuol Daze ol I953-54 W, U. Law School. Judge Calhoun, the in- structor who presided, is a Central Alumnus. Career Day was held on April Znd for the 5's, 6's, 7's and 8's. The students passed to various rooms where they listened to representa- tives of different occupations. On April 4th, the Senior Outing was held at Pierre Marquette Park. Everyone had a wonder- ful time, including Doug Cremeens, who had had an unfortunate accident and was forced to buy safety pins from Bob Winter. On April' 22nd four Central students from the Radio class discussed the newly passed Cur- few Law on Junior Town Meeting. In April thirteen of Central's students took a full week off for a trip to Washington, D. C. and New York City. In Washington they vis- ited the Capitol, the White House, the Washing- ton Monument and other famous buildings. In New York they visited the U. N. Building, Radio Center and numerous other centers of in- terest. They also took a cruise around Man- hattan Island and the Statue of Liberty. The lucky thirteen were Treasa Maloney, Joyce Onions, Chester Dorsey, Peggy Steward, Marian Brewer, Robert Landrum, Dorotha Shelton, Mary Price, Barbara West, Frances Jones, Jim Wagner. Bill Schulze and Herman Pendleton. On May 5th the Toastmistress and Toast- masters held their joint meeting in B-7. pre- ceeded by a luncheon. On May 7th the Seniors had their Color Day. The girls were seen in their traditional white dresses and the boys in their new suits. Enough pictures were taken to make a movie. Field Day was held at Public School Stadium on May 28. On June 6 the Seniors had another outing, This time at Trout Lodge. They were sorry to see such a good time end. On June 16th, 118 Seniors will walk regret- fully and yet happily down the aisle at Beau- mont High School to receive their diplomas from Mr, Alexander. School closes for the year on June l8.
