R. 0. .C. The mission of the R. 0. 'l'. C. is to awaken in the student an appreeiation of the olrligations of eitizenship, to prepare him to discharge his duties as a eitizen, and to prepare him as a leader in peaee and in war. All through life we depend on someone to lead us. The R. 0. T. C. eadet, who has gone through the vigorous train- ing program, is ready and willing to step into position as a leader. llis training ineludes mili- tary drill and eommand. organization. military history, policy, map reading. scouting, patrol- ling, eomhat prineiples. musketry, posture. sani- tation, hygiene, lirst aid, ete. I Kellyis R. ll. 'l'. C., under the instruetion of Sergeant. Eugene Tworek, has lreen rated as an Honor Unit for the seeond straight year. ln addition to this eitation. the pielaed platoon plaeed within the first ten for the first time in the annual platoon eompetition. This is also the Hrst, year that the eommand- ing oflieer of our unit has lreen entitled to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Due to the in- ereased enrollment in the R. 0. T. C. this year, there are now five eompanies in the unit. Lieu- tenant, Colonel Paul Sehmidt was the eommand- ing oflieer the Hrs! semester and Lieutenant Colonel ,loseph Stulcis, the second semester. Major Edward Staek has heen the adjutant for the present semester. The company com- manders are as follows: Company A, Captain Anthony Ukoekisg Company ABQ' Captain Ches- ter Halieki: Company C, Captain Phillip l'etrey, Company li, Captain Edsel Manning, Company F, Captain ,Iohn Edart.
