We, the illustrious graduating class of 1947, being fully and soundly possessed of our mental and physical faculties, and in complete knowledge of the fact that the rising Seniors could never equal our grand and glorious record made as Central Seniors, do proclaim and ordain this document as the Last Will and Testament of the Class of 1947. Am'1c1.12 I: T o the Faculty and Administration Item l-To Mr. Otts goes our profound and sin- cere thanks for his invaluable help, guidance, and aid given us throughout the past year. May he re- main here many more semesters to help students solve their many problems. Item 2-To Mr. Lilly and Mrs. Peeler, we leave our appreciation for their help in our little everyday problems. May they keep the office humming for many years to come. Item 3-To the Messrs. Kinghsh Brannin, Stanley Cropley, and PineyH Fulkerson we leave the athletic department of Central in hopes that their combined capabilities will produce bigger and better Wildcats, Silver Streaks, and Bees in '47 and ,48. Item 4-To Miss Sarah Foster, we leave our grati- tude for the many helpful things she did for us as our class adviser. Item 5-To Miss Eleanor Markham, we leave our theorems, corollaries, logarithms, and slide- rules, in hopes that Margie signs don't harass her in the future. ARTICLE II: To the Underclassmen Item 1-To you juniors we leave the large re- sponsibility of maintaining Central's good name and of keeping her in the respected position of the best high school in America! Item 2-We sadly leave our senior superiority and privileges in exchange for status as lowly col- lege freshmen. Item 3-We leave to you underclassmen our many autographs and signatures on the walls of C. H. S. for you to gaze at enviously. Item 4-Lastly, we leave to you a wonderful school, a great school spirit, and a marvelous faculty. May you enjoy your senior year at Central as much as we have. SALLY CARSON BUSINESS MAGNATE AND DAUGHTER TO ARRIVE IN CITY TODAY Mr. Nelson Adams, President of the U. S. lland- book Association, and his daughter, Little Ruthie, will be greeted this morning at the Coeller Airport Cnamed for the brilliant Dr. Victor Coeller of Char- lotteD by Mayor Tommy Langford. The Adamses are here with their Quiz Kid Ruthie, who will be on the Quiz Kid Show tomorrow night. CHARLOTTE GIRL MAKES GOOD ON BROADWAY Miss Nancy Holder has iust gotten the lead in a dancing musical which is being directed by Law- rence Mason and backed by Mr. Dick Hinson. If Charlotte could have only known ten years ago that the little girl who danced in the Central Variety Show would today be Famous, the whole town would have turned out to see her. It is rumored that Miss Holder is still driving the men crazy with that S. A.-sassy attitude-that is! SNAKE LOVER SUFFERS FROM SNAKE BITE The nationally famous snake lover, Bryson Irwin, was bitten by Lulu, one of his favorite snakes, yes- terday. Because of the quick thinking of Nurse Barbara Murphy, Mr. Irwin is expected to live. He would not permit Photographer James Mills to take a picture of him in his condition. Mr. Irwin made one statement for the press, I still love Lulu. NOTED DRESS DESIGNER TO SPEAK AT IUNIOR CIIAMBER OF COMMERCE Mr. Frank Hann, President of the Iunior Cham- ber of Commerce, announced today that Miss Patri- cia Hicks, world famous dress designer, will sneak at its meeting next Wednesday at I:0O. Miss Hicks will leave Paris Monday night and is expected to arrive in Charlotte Tuesday night. Miss Blanche Andrews, also of Charlotte, is Miss Hicks's private pilotl Page Eighteen PHUPHEIIY CANCER HEAD TO PERFORM OPERATION IN CHARLOTTE Dr. Doris Leeper, President of the U. S. Cancer Research Association, will prove her cancer theories here in Charlotte. Dr. Leeper is renowned for her new discoveries in the field of cancer. CENTRAL TO GET NEW GYM TEACI IER Mrs. Doris McKnight Browning has replaced Miss Gabriel as Director of Girls' Athletics at Central High School. She chose Central so she could be with her husband, Bill, who is a member of the senior class. CHARLOTTE MEN MAKE MILLIONS IN NEW BUSINESS Mr. Sunny Alexander and Mr. .lack King are now running a very profitable business in Fort Mill, S. C. BARBER SIIOP QUARTET TO SING FOR KING AND QUEEN OF ENGLAND The Barber Shop Quartet. Mr. Wade Fox, Mr. Robert Wylie, Mr. C. D. Thomas, and Mr. Gus Helms, all graduates of Central High School, have left for England to sing for His Maiesty, the King, by special request. From London they will go to Paris to sing For the French Court. Stalin has made arrangements to have the famous American Quartet to stay in Russia for a week. They will be enter- tained exclusively by the Russian Government. Mr. Wylie hopes to do some fishing in the Danube. Marion Christopher Richards daughter has iust been selected the girl most likely to succeed at Elizabeth school. History repeating itselflll BERRY MAKES MILLIONS JUST BEING BERRY New York, May I.-Iesse Berry, after a week on N. B. C., has been signed by the Philip Morris Company to take over the program, It Pays To Be Ignorantf' Although voted the most ignorant man on radio. he will make millions. It is predicted that he will be the highest paid comedian on radio in 1958. BALLET RUSSE TO BE PRESENTED TONIGHT AT 8:00 The New York Ballet Company will present the Ballet Russe tonight.
