Centrals new principal, MR. JOHN C. OTTS, JR., has done much in the past year to enable Central to hold her own as one of the outstanding high schools in the country. He has gained the respect of the students, and he will be remembered as a splendid leader and ia sincere friend. Mr. Ctts received his AB. degree upon graduating from Wofford in 1930. ln 1931 he finished a graduate course at Vanderbilt with an lVl,A. in English. He taught English in Spartanburg High School from 1931 until 1939. From 1939 to 1945 he was principal of Jenkins Junior High School. He was principal of Charlotte High School. predecessor of Central, from 1904 to l9l Z. He is recognized as an outstanding educa- tor and is honored for his unceasing interest in public education.
