I 5-ses WHEN the cock had crowed, the day had begun to spring, and the Host had roused his guests from their slumbers, the Canterbury Pilgrims left the Tabard Inn and began their journey to the holy shrine. Like them must we, at the turning of the hourglass, leave our comfortable hostelry and, with our comrades, venture forth on the Great Pilgrimage. Let us hope that, like the Pilgrims of old, we may face the hardships of the road with a blithe spirit and a conhdence born of cour- age. Those of us who become separated from the friendly Pilgrim band will hope for a reuniting at some wayside inn. But we must hasten, for the sand runs swiftly, and the way to Canterbury lies white under the fresh, blue skies of spring.
