59.153 developed nn ourselves the school love that prompted us to this rlpe age of learning and this consecrated day of graduation We next find ourselves unconsciously growing too old in mentality and age to be settled on the first six rungs of the ladder to whlch we have now put the tvv elfth step ln our background At the age of twvelve we at Andrews discarded Professor C U Barker and his grades bv moving ourselves and our thoughts to the Junior High at Central We then look ed upon the Seniors as our big bossv brothers and we had a longing desire to wear their shoes We eagerly dreamed of our becoming seniors six years hence So passed the days of our seventh and eighth years of schooling In the fall of 1935 one hundred twenty nine entered the first year of our Hlgh School education Wlth high aspxratlons and ideals We felt proud of our achlevements and felt that we were capable and destined to receive a High School diploma We set to work ln Latm English His tory mathamatxcs clvlcs sclence and of course home Ec We labored strenuously yet happily though some will not admit lt through our Freshman Sophomore and Junior years Although our ranks have been somewhat dlIIllIllSh8d eighty five of us enrolled as seniors approaching the end of our publlc school edu Miss Hale and the remainder of our notable teachers felt nt necessary for us to work We grumbled when we were told to write a theme or take a history test Yet from these class workings we developed a momento far greater than any other souvemr we can ever possess Friends we have successfully attained the opportunity to appear before you on this happy occasion This day IS happy ln that lt IS full of meaning but lt lS really one of the saddest days of our life The thought of leaving our dear Alma Mater IS sad for we are wearlng this question in our heart what IS to be our life s destiny?
