Through your understanding of our numerous youthful prob¬ lems, we have become better equipped to face the future. With these things in mind we do hereby dedi¬ cate this. Where it is lacking, life is of doubtful worth. It seems to me that the members of the Class of 196 2 may be characterized by this word congeniality . They are pleasant and agreeable. Getting along with them is easy. They contribute to one ' s faith in the essential goodness of mankind. Having them around is pleasant. Teaching them is restful. May this characteristic go with them all the days of their lives. Smiuvca Class of ’62 CLASS HISTORY In September 1958, we ad¬ vanced an important step, from junior high to high school. As freshman we realized that in a few short years we would become those noble people called seniors. The officers chosen to lead us through our first year as high school students were Johnny Agar, Alan Martin, Jean Duer, and Sam Taylor. They all did a wonderful job and the year was a complete success. Our freshman year passed quickly and soon we were sopho¬ mores. The officers selectedto lead us were Johnny Agar, Joan Ashby, Irene Strugis, and Tom¬ my Duer. During this year we had many dances and began to work very hard in order to add money to our treasury for the future. We were all very pleased with ourselves and looked forward to a very promising junior year. The junior year was with us. This was the year we se¬ lected our class rings and gave the seniors the prom. The theme of the prom was Sayonara and the decorations were truly magnificent. Also we presented our junior play, Ah Wilderness, which was a big hit. Our class officers Irene Strugis, Johnny Agar, Joan Ashby, and Eddie Drewer did a wonderful job in leading us and helping us de¬ cide how to make money which would be used as seniors. All in all the junior year was the best we had ever experienced. The greatly anticipated year is here. We are now the priviledged seniors, with Billy Walman, Johnny Agar, LilMapp, and Eddie Drewer as our class officers. This is the year of our (senior class) trip to Washington and also the year that we are en¬ tertained by the juniors. It is while practicing for graduation, that we finally realize that our highschool career is quickly drawing to a close. As we made the final march down the hall at our graduation, we realized that another mile¬ stone of life had passed. ' • Here we are searching diligently for new and interesting ideas for you readers. Through misfortune we lost one of our members, Jackie Daniel. She was one of the hardest workers on the staff, a friend to all, and a personality that shall never be forgotten. Words can not express our gratitude for the helping hand and patience given to us by our advisor, Mrs. Nancy Irvin. Without her guidance we could never have made this annual a reality. Foreign students, who attend school in the United States, represfent their countries in a panel discussion. Many ideas are brought to view and abet¬ ter understanding between the pupils of different nation¬ alities is obtained. This year the Central SCA sent twenty-seven SCA members to the forum.
