When Nancy Turner was ' buzzard bait ' and Jimmy Lewis learned to spell Central? Our professional performance of Are Teachers Human ? The purple-fingered witch with her pewtered figs and the grand game that Hortense played? The party afterwards at Fisherman ' s Inn and our gifts to Mr. Nicholson? The slumber party at Sue ' s with Billye June and Linda in mor¬ tal combat ? What wonderful bench warmers we made and the thrill of getting that first ' letter C ' ? Our seventh grade commencement and the Pyramid of Life ? When Linda ' s theme song was How Important Can It Be and Mary was nuts about ' Woody Bud ' ? The boys ' Halloween party and riding home through the flood? The wonderful night of the ' Mardi Gras ' ? The millions of balloons we blew up and the crepe paper that drooped down and down and down?
