Many members held high offices • .... t id we 11 in th -•chool we weren’t quite ir; to par, s the saying goes, in the scholastic line. When we left that year we made a resolution to do much better t’ c next year. The summer months flew by swiftly and again we entered dear C. H. S. Remembering our resolutlc lire : ii pr ve great deal and also became closer friends with each other . We were Sophomores end v e looke n -.it; interest as the Juniors prepared for the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. Then, we were Juniors and vie had a big job to do-to , ive the Seniors a Banquet ahd Prom lir.e they bed never ohoye;.. before. We aecomplishe this after a long and hard struggle. We personally thought it was the best one given but realized that every other Junior class would think the sane. In Hay at the Graduation Exercises we realized that our school life was drawing to a close. In a ' very short time we found ourselves again at the side doors of Central hurrying in. The first few days we expected see the Seniors • ti nev r appeared and then it dawned upon us--We Were Seniors 1 That seemed strange, that, long -‘-waited day and we ri n’i feel differently, This year for the first time re are all in one homeroom under t’ e i 2 e of : T ”s. Mildred B Nock, who is our friend and teacher. ■ f objective of our Senior year besides gradu tln; is e tri Wash in ton. As re continue through the year t is thought comes to us: Little cuts, from classes, Little cards marked lute, Make tf e Seniors wonder If they will graduate. So or. thes- next few months will be rone end re wii 1 leave Central for tbe last time after five wonderful years here. After we have left memories will return whic! will long be cherished an. kept in a specie place in our book of life. It would seem so since we were ciassified as Sophomores last year. Yet, if Juniors this year, then , e L lnly a Seni . 0rS n ! Xt year We know that this cannot be the case since we do not graduate until 1950. th _ Jf S teVe r our classification, we are proud of our class and of the work we have been able to accomplish. We have furnished stars s Q boy ' s _ ana gill’s ball teams and for the Girl ' basket- 1 - teams. Some of our members were among those who represented our schoox at the Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y Conference at Cape Charles and fIpihpr? Pr r Sent t i liS district in the State Conference at Richmond. ..embers of our class were chosen with members of the Senior Class t0 ra u Se , ™ oney for the two respective classes by selling drinks and checking coats at the three concerts held in our auditorium by the Community Concert Association. Our class was responsible for selling refreshments at the Social Club Dance. The money we ra a S J d in tb f s , and other ways will be used to pay for the ban¬ quet and dance which we expect to give the Senior Class at the close of school. Scholastically speaking, we are very proud to be able to say hat our class ranks as high as any class in school.
