After gaining knowl' edge from journalism comps in the summer, 0 decision to alter old ways wos mode A new nomeplote was developed, and style adopt- ed, 05 the staff got reorganized for 0 new and exciting year. There was much pressure on the newspaper staff to develop interesting new story and picture ideas and to meet stiff deod- lines. R ah for the Gold and Bro wn Centralls Cheerleaders 0nd Honeybeors kept up the long, proud tradition of Gold and Brown spirit this 8869 yeori The Honeybeors, coached by Susie Hern'n, started off their season in the summer with 0 dance camp at Eastern Illinois University The y learned new dance routines and techniques and competed in a home routine competition, The girls come home with 0 Superior trophy qualifying them for Nationals, spirit sticks, and a Friendliest Squad Trophy, along with over 60 blue ribbons for individual performances. The girls performed at all home football and bos- ketboll games. The Varsity, Reserve, and Freshman cheer- leaders, sponsored by Lynn 5eiler and Jim Gardner, started off CH5 spirit with summer Cheerleading camps. The Varsity and Reserves attended camp at University of Kentucky where they practiced hard and competed. The Varsity come home with 0 most improved squad trophy and spirit sticks, while the Res- erves brought home men y ribbons and spirit awards.
