Football Homecoming, 1987 was held on Friday night September 25, Four re- presentatrves were chosen by each of the freshmen, sophor more, and junior classes and 12 representatives were cho sen by the senior class. During the game, the repre- sentatives sat together in one section of the stadium and anxiously awaited the results THE SENIOR CLASS was rep- resented by Jim Arendt and Heidi Altekruse. SENIOR repre- sentatives Kirk Hales and Kim- ber Gress 6 Football Homecoming ales, Boyd crowned royalty of the electron that were to be announced at halftime of the game. Each of the representa- tives walked onto the football field at halftime as their names were announced over the loud speaker. Eventually everyone was In place and ready for the results of the electron. The announcer gave the resu1t32Runner-up kmg i Brran Skaggs, Runnerrup queen i Kimber Cress, King 7 Kirk Hales, and Queen - Pam Boyd, The junior class sponsored a school-wide dance immedi- ately following the game. There was a special dance for the court members. The theme was HDidn't We Al- most Have It All . CROWNED King and Queen were Kirk Hales and Pam Boyd. SENIOR repre- sentatives Brian Gibson and Pam Boyd

RUNNER-UP IN INDIANA s Y87 runner-up in the state of Indi- ana, Coach Paul Gries, Base- ball Bears finished their season with the most wins in the teams history, The final game of their 30-7 season was played at Bush Stadium in Indianapolis, in the final game of the IHSAA state tournament. The Bears lost that game to La Porte. Twenty-two wins blasted the Bears into the Sectional and KIRK HALES goes through his warm-up tosses before taking the field in the champion- ship game. TODD HUNSUCKER and pitcher Dirk Lin- dauer talk it over during a break in action. Lin- dauer ended his high school career a first team aII-state pitcher with a 16-0 season and an ex- cellent .91 ERA. t87 Baseballers 4H at home into a dreamigoal that the 1987 team had strived to achieve for a long time. Graduating seniors included first team All-State pitcher Dirk Lindauer; Paul Dunham, twho was unable to play in the finals because of a knee injury suf- fered in the semi-state roundt; Andy Blake, Darren Cato, Keith Tungate, Jeff Duvall, and the L.V. Phillips mental atti- tude award winner, Bart Emig. Returning Iettermen this year were Brian Gibson, Kirk Hales, Todd Hunsucker, David Koehler, Glen Catlett, Matt Pokorney, Jeff Biggs, Robby Frank, and Johnny Liggett. The final game was a frustrat- ing and disappointing loss for the 1987 team, and the 1988 team was not about to forget those feel- ings as they entered this year's season.
