Each class also includes a variety of fun activities such as sklts, competitions. and discussion panels The Horizons program is a four year program that started with the class of 1989, Each year, they study dif- ferent aspects of English, Horizons students study everything from word power to drama in a single year. All of these classes prepare the students for the rigorous aca. demics of college. - Academics 25 -

In The Lab . . . Some classes do not always re. quire the student to sit at a desk the whole time. Classes, such as physics, chemistry, biology, foods, and aeronautics require the students to work in a lab situation. Labs help students apply what they've learned to real situations. their desks and into a more re- laxed atmosphere. Labs have even been known to be a little fun. Students can have an exciting time working with springs, pul leys, chemicals, and even small, dead animals. Wow! What more could one ask for? Doing labs also gets them out of AERONAUTICS students hit Ihe books so they can learn how to make a plane that doesn't crash. It takes a lot of concentration. Don't they look studious?
