WE WIN again! The Bears show their excitement after another victory. LIKE ALWA Y5, senior Trent Maroni fires up the crowd by slinging his towel. est record in CHS history Football at Central High School enjoyed its most suc- cessful season since 1925 as Coach Mike Owen's Bears finished with a 10-1 record. Included in the undefeated reg- ular season 8-0 record were undisputed city and SIAC championships. The Bears won their first two games in Sectional com- petition before falling to undefeated Jeffersonvillet 31-29. in the Sectional title game. As the score indicated, the game was close all the way. Seniors led the Bears to the undefeated season and many were expected to make post-season all-star teams. Coach Owen, in his second season as varsity head coach, improved his 3-6 record of a year ago to 10-1. Only once t19251. has a Central team won 10 games. and only once t1944i. has a Central team finished the regular season undefeated Varsity Football 11
