Run- ners-up were Don Short, junior, and William Smith, senior, Linda Wathen, freshman, won first place in the Spanish regional and was participant in finals at Bloomington. Jeanine Keach, freshman, won first place in the regional algebra contest at Memorial. James Sizelove, sophomore, re- ceived 325 for his entry in the Home of the Year contest. Winners in the Industrial arts Awards Program sponsored by the Foremen's Club in the Mechanical Drawing division are John Whalen, sophomore, first place . . . Keith Fitch, junior, second place . . . Fred Remfry, senior, third place. In the electrical division Charles Long, sophomore, placed first . . . Gary McWilliams, junior, placed second. In the crafts division Ronald Pat- rick, sophomore, placed first. Joan Tibbett, junior, won first place in the Dramatic Declamation class of the speech contest held at Reitz. Carole Gibson, junior, won second place. Sherry Agner, Linda Haynes, and Judy Mielke, juniors, placed first 13251, second 13151, and third 13101 respectively in the Junior-Senior division of the 1955 Central My Career Opportunities in Evansville contest. In the Freshman-Sopho- more division Doris Ubelhor won first 13251, Brenda Bryant won first 13251, Diana Brown won second 13151, and Janice Mattingly won third 13101. Carole Gibson, junior, received honorable mention in the Civil De- fense essay contest. Also receiving recognition were freshmen Sara Miller and F. Richard Thomas. Thomas Tupper, sophomore, plac- ed second in an Optimist speech contest.
