The Future Homemakers chose as the1r theme for the year Footsteps to the Future The frrst steps they took were rn the form on an Inrtiatron Party for the new members The offrcers of the F H A attended the Offxcers Trarmng School held at Elgrn rn October of 1956 On December 5 a formal In1t1at1on of Offrcers was held At Chr1stmas txme the F H A sent a Care package to Germany They also had a Chrrstmas Tea to whlch they 1nv1ted therr mothers The frrst actrvrty of the new year was a Taffy Pull held on January 30 1957 They also started havrng candy sales rn school durrng thrs month Durlng Valentrne week the F H A had a Heart Srster Project A senes of frlms on Homemaklng were shown durmg March They also went rnto Chrcago to see CINERAMA HOLIDAY On May 22 the grrls presented thelr annual style show The formal Inltratron of Offlcers for the comlng year was also held At the Sprrng Rally sectron meetmg held at North Chrcago Dorothy Chapman was elected Vxce Presrdent of Sectron 21 Karen Scharrer IS the Recreatlon Charrman of Section 21 Kay Scharrer was chosen as Central s delegate to F H A Camp held at Lake Bloom xngton durrng the summer
