Giants third victim l-laltback Pat Thornton led the pack ot Imp backs, but James Brooks was on his heels. Tackles Bill Bush and l'Doughnut Favors and center Johnny San- ders sparked the line play. Sonny Parker booted an extra point through the l-l-barrier and Favors gave the crowd a laugh as he bulled his way to paydirt to pick up the other PAT. CENTRAL 20 LANETT 0 Playing its toughest opponent thus tar in the grid year, Central sparked by Pat Thornton in the backtield and Wayne Webb among the Iinesmen, humbled the Lanett Panthers tor its titth straight triumph, James Brooks' aerials to Lewis Turner and Webb netted a pair ot TD's tor the Devils-while David Favors ripped his 250-pound body through the tackle slot to grab a third, Sammy Howard plunged over tor one PAT and Sonny Parker added the other with his educated toe. A Central pass was intercepted in the last minute of the contest by Valleys l-lomer Washburn to kill a late lmp scoring threat. lt appeared that Washburn was caught behind the goal on that vital play but the refs ruled that he had carried the ball out of zero territory before being nailed. Tommy Wade picked up the first Central score in the initial period on a pass interception. Sonny Parker toed over the extra point, James Brooks scored the other ypair of six-pointers late in the set-to. CENTRAL 0 SIDNEY LANIER 14 The strong Sidney Lanier eleven of Montgomery handed the Centralites their first and only defeat of the season, A small gathering of rather wet fans watched the rain- soaked tussle go Laniers way on the strength of two quick touchdowns in the third period, Barely three min- utes of action separated the two scores. Many projects have been undertaken by the members and success has always been the result. Through the organization land was purchased and finally resulted in the construction of our present Annex building. The gym was the result ot a group of C Club members work. Their untiring efforts was rewarded by this modern building. The group is thinking about ways and means of building new schools and better athletic relations between Central and other high schools. The annual House of David Game is one of the many proiects undertaken by the C Club. The Group presents banquets for the athletic teams and awards the Seniors in all sports miniature balls at the ,end of their high school careers. Our school is fortunate in having such an organization in our City.
