Old soldiers never die we are told. To some, your teachers seem to live forever! But we of the faculty do experience a certain immortality. In the course of our professional lives some of us can expect to see forty classes of students gradu- ate. The years may add wrinkles and gray or remove our hair, but the wonderful adventure of dealing with enthusiastic youth keeps our spirits young. Each graduating class has con- tributed during its three years toward making our lives richer and fuller. We are grateful to you, the Class of 1952, for your contribution to this school and to us. PHILIP H. VERCOE, Principal dean of girls principal For those of you who are about to take your places in the community, we are not afraid for you. We are living in an excit- ing age. Because there has never been a time when science has brought so many changes in such a short period of time, you have a difficult job cut out for you. It is going to be up to you to bring our economic and social trends into line with the great scientific changes and to work toward a lasting peace. Good luck to each and everyone of you. MABEL PINEL

assistant principal T0 THE Cl..-XSS AS OF '52: All too soon, what was once a farvaway dream, becomes an actual fact. The Class of 1952 has written its recordindelibly within this structure known to us as Central High School. Only time will tell how well this record has been written. The next big step is about to be taken, and whe- ther it be further formal education, or employ- ment depends upon you as an individual. In any event the tools you accumulated while in school should make it a better world for all of us. As I look back over the years it seems that our world was always a troubled one, which may be as it should be, so, heads up, chin in, shoulders back. best o' luck to you all. STANLEY BROOME, Dean of Boys To THE Smions or 1952: On june fourth you will become alumni of Central High School. I am wishing for you suc- cess in the career you seek for yourself, and hap- piness beyond your dreams. But I am wishing even more that you may find many opportunities to serve your fellow men and that you will meas- ure up to those opportunities. You will justify the faith that your parents, your teachers, and the rest of the citizens of Flint have had in you if you become responsible citizens of the community in which you live. Central High School expects you to represent her well. Sincerely, FLORENCE E. RIDDELL Asst. Principal clean of boys
