Prospectus I his record of the year 1949 which you are now reading is the product of a year’s industrious and ingenious efforts by the Pros- pectus staff. Editor-in-chief of Central’s forty-third year book was Pat Kostka, who directed its organization. Cal Samra, Associate- Editor, was responsible for the supervision of write-ups and pho- tography. A year book is only as good as its senior section. Elaine Jones, Senior Editor, planned an excellent section for the graduates of this year. Supervising the junior section of the book was Sue Smith, while Sue Laycock was in charge of sophomore layouts. Two new positions were created this year and were held by Joyce Peck, Faculty Editor; and Roger Pickering, Write-Up Editor. In charge of art work was Chuck Stanton; and Lucille Titus, Music Editor; Barbara Shepherd, Dramatics Editor; and Ron Black, Forensic Editor; were responsible for the fine arts section.

Senior Officers JO IRWIN Secretary BILL BILLINGS President RON BLACK Vice-President RENA NOVAK Treasurer Class of 1949 Like most graduating classes the Senior Class of 1949 has complained about long, hard hours, but as graduation approached they were just as reluctant to leave as most of the classes before them. On top after the elections in the fall were Bill Billings, president; Ron Black, vice-president; Jo Irwin, secretary; and Rena Novak, treas- urer. They were assisted by the class sponsors, Mrs. Edna McMillan and Miss Ruth Reik. Highlighting the activities of the year were the senior dinner dance, Baccalaureate, and finally Commencement. Among the other activities of the year were the senior couple dance, senior sing, and “Dear Ruth,” the senior play. SENIOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS. First row, left to right—Nancy Samson.
