,4l we AM lil' It has taken more than seventy years to build Central High School Buildings have been con structed occupied torn down and new buildings erected. Locations have been changed. new text- books have been adopted and equipment has been modernized. Boys and girls have graduated. Their sons and daughters and their grandsons and grand- daughters have followed them through her class- rooms. Many hundreds of teachers have composed her changing faculty. It is the total of all these things, and all these people. that make the Central High School that we know today. Not least among the means of bring- ing this total forward to us has been the Prospectus. Its annual review of activities and achievements has bound each year to the past and to the future. It has helped to fix the spirit of loyalty and service which we like to think of as the sprit of Central High School. As a link of this chain, l greet the Prospectus of 1943. I. E. Wellwood. Principal The real Central High School is not a building of brick and stone it is you and the thousands of other young men and young women of the classes which have gone before you. You have created a something which we call the 'Central Spirit.' I can wish nothing finer for you than that the Central spirit may go with you in the years that are ahead. They will be difficult years, for you will share, with all the other young men and women of the world. the responsibility of bring- ing a lasting peace to the world. If this Central Spirit goes with you, you will face this opportunity with courage even though for some of you it means death itself. Our faith is in you. Florence E. Riddell, Asst. Principal
