The following is but a short history of the class of June 1939. Four years ago, on the threshold of a new experience, its members entered Central High School, somewhat green, but very eager to learn all they could about this new school they were entering. During their first few weeks in Central, they were plagued and tormented by the Juniors and Seniors of the school. It seemed to these newcomers that the older inhabi- tants of the school remained awake most of the night just thinking of mean things they could do to abuse the “freshies”. Having mastered their Freshman and Sophomores years, they launched into their Junior year, where in ЗА the class was really organized. Faculty advisors, Miss Jessie W. Boutillier and Mr. William A. Coleman, CONSTITUTION COMMITTEE were appointed. The class got off to a fine start and elected a committee to formulate a constitution. The committee set to work Under the supervision of the faculty ad visors the constitution slowly took its form, and after much discussion pro and con by which the seemingly unsurpassable obstacles were overcome, the constitution was ready to be presented to the class, which accepted it after discussing its good and bad merits After the acceptance of the constitution by the class, came the election of class officers; the result of which was President, Frank Travisano; Vice-President, Tasos Dermousi ; Recording Secretary, Natalie Talamonti; Corresponding Secretary, Mary Farano; Treasurer, Anne Francisco; Assistant Trea- 5агег, Josephine Pezza. In order to have a harmonious govern- ment in a democratic land it. is necessary to have the people represented in the government. This was our first aim when founding the form of government to be used by the Class of June 1939, The United States has its Congress, the Class of June, 1939, had its House of Delegates. The first purpose of the House of Delegates was to organize the classes which it represented. Members to the House of Delegates were chosen by their respective homerooms, two to each homeroom.
