You will find that it depends chiefly upon the factor of faith. In other words, faith in one's ability is what really counts. Individuals, human or animal, have natural endowments peculiar to themselves. Thinking mankind studies Thinking man studies the inanimate, learns its useful properties, and utilizes them for comfort and human advantage. Faith, knowledge, and the development of mental, moral, and physical self-power, make for health and happiness through work in definitely bounded areas. Do not let your dear ones ever retard themselves in life, by loss of faith in the possible advantageous development of even their humblest life equipment. SUCCESS IN ALL UNDER- TAKINGS FOLLOWS FAITH IN ONESELF. Sincerely yours, 4 . DA а с TALLA Principal. January 10, 1936. JANUARY nd de lare CLASS OF 1936. MiRIAM ROTHSTEIN, JAMES TSIOTSIOS, Attorney-at-Law Witnesses: SADYE TISCHLER, SIDNEY LOEWENTHAL, SYLVIA GALUSKIN, SELMA RAPHAEL. The day of the big trial had arrived, fifteen years of experimentation with patient suffering At last, the hopes of the entire world were to be fulfilled, in an invention no bigger than a radio and no more expensive. It was the greatly publicized radioactive tele- and trving tolerance. vision receiver that could picture any scene in action at that present moment anywhere in the universe. There were five scientists in the radio labora tory. They had all graduated from Central, January 1936, and were very close in their busi ness connections. There were Berne Hirschberg, the great promoter, who had originated the idea ; George Mussig, Ernest Rueger and Spiro Paulos, the famous radio engineers, who had perfected the invention to Last but not least was Jack Runyon, the eminent chemist, who ap- plied his electro-chemical genius to this colossal masterpiece. a Success. Naturally, the first tryout would be recorded for ages ahead so that it was necessary to think of a good plan for the projection of the tele- vision eye. Professor Runyon immediately sug- gested looking up the class of January 1936 and the others readily agreed. The eye was first flashed to Trenton where our great Governor, James Stamas, was in confer- ence with a women's delegation from Newark headed by Sadye Tischler. Among those dele- gates were the socially prominent Selma Raphael, Mary Kozowitz, and the wife of a great master- mind, Henrietta Tosel. In the kitchen were Danato Yannazzo and Bernice Zoppo, supposed to be cooking for the meeting but making eyes а. each other. 38 Focusing the eve on the great metropolis we hit the Metropolitan Opera House while Betty Karpf was delivering one of her famous arias. She was doing a leading role with Myron Snyder singing the male lead. Backstage, Tommy Zito and Vincent Carnevale boasted that they could do just as well. And started out to sing “She'll be 'Carmen' 'round the Mountain When She Comes, when the official bouncer, Harold Man dell, threw them out. Now world back to the other side of the theatrical John Andrews was kibitizing with the girls backstage at the Dickman's Burlesque, espe cially with Doris Brady. Out on the stage were the beautifiers of the Brohawn follies, notably Rose Corry, Beatrice Sherman, Edna Zimmer and Ann De Domenico. We chanced to get a glimpse at a highway scene where Harry Koltman was speeding to work, late just as in the olden school days. He stopped, however, to pick up a hitchhiker, John Hanek, and they reminisced on bygone days. Going up on the boardwalk of Coney Island we saw a special attraction which we suspected to be of interest to us. We cheated the barker out front, Joe Kairis, by not having to pay, and saw the largest and smallest men in the world inside, Oscar Englander and our class president, William Short. By the way, that name surely fits him. At another corner we saw Andy Di Giacomo, who featured by making things dis- appear but having known him in school we put two and two together and attributed it to the fact ihat we all have to make a living. Then, alas, the motor became overworked and the picture faded. Oh, well! Football Swimming X-Country Imagine... ? Dear Parents: Our span of life is filled with joys, trials and trıbulations during the training necessary for continuous, unified education and for its educational integration in the naturally diversified life of individuals. It is necessary that definite, dynamic controls of knowledge, impulses and inner urges be acquired through self-discipline. Self-discipline in life is like the brakes on a train, useful when applied if going in the wrong direction and useless when moving along normally. Self-discipline is a real life power, producing the development of self-restraint and self-denial. It makes us know ourselves and become aware of our reserves and resources. It makes us fit for trusting ourselves to ourselves, for the larger outlook of existence and service. It makes us fit to cope with life problems in unexpected emergencies furnishing presence of mind and the will-power to do our very best at all times.
