Staying Healthy And Happy . . . TO MANY Bobcats it will come as a sur- prise to learn that the Health Center is not an emergency ward on the, order of TV's Blair Hospital. In fact, it isn't even a medical center but rather a campus bulwark against troubles that can come from sickness or accidents. Under the efficient direction of Nurse Jose- phine Rhodes, Central's students are guided along the paths to good health. You might not rate even an aspirin in the Health Center but you'll know more about your eyesight, hearing, and general condition as these affect your work at CeHS. Complete records are kept on each student, and should the need arise, the school gets in touch with the parents andfor the family physician to keep students healthy. MANY DO NOT realize the interest taken in students' welfare by the Parent-Teacher Association. This group is the link between school and community, and active members are always ready to help with the tests given students at the Health Center. Also a series of panel discussions is promoted by PTA in the interest of better student-parent relationships. SAY AHHHH! Nurse Rhodes really finds nothing wrong with Pam Washburn's tonsils, but sore throats could lead to more serious ills, and besides the cameraman found this to be a snappy snapshot! Besides the annual Open House program, the group sponsors scholarships for worthy stu- dents and keeps in co-operative touch with all class councils as they plan ambitious programs. ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION engages the interest of the Parent-Teacher Council. Members here are in animated conversation regarding a panel meeting to deal with one of several teen-age problems. ln the group are Mrs. Hughes, Mrs, Owens, 'Mrs. Burns, Dean Risley, Mr. Ken- dall, Mrs. Coffinger, Mrs. Mardian, Assistant Principal Anderson, Mrs. Bendalin, Mrs. Harter, Mrs. Chilton, President Blair, Principal Waters, Mesdames Dalton, Ma- son, Doyle, and Garland. Such groups as these insure the continued growth and usefulness of Central's PTA. 5 . fi' l ti
