The course has in a study of the New York Times Book Review section. opened up a whole new world to her, Kerry admitted Life's Problem Can Loom Large LlFE'S LITTLE complexities take on more meaning after one has studied philosophy, history, literature-and Mr. Carnahan's bul- letin board! The new course in humanities offers every thinking person a greater insight and perspective. Juniors and seniors signed up tor the course, taught also by Mr. Higgins. Long and loud are the arguments and earnest discussions that begin in class and last some- times long after school! English students were given a balanced diet ot good grammar, liter- ary reading, and composition writing. For the first time, some students heard there were better authors than Mickey Spillane andfor Zane Grey. Such classic writers as Poe, Haw- thorne, Dickens, and Shakespeare started hun- dreds of Central High Bobcats on the golden path to many pleasurable reading adventures.
